Buddhist Film Night at the Center

Sat January 30th: 7:30 PM - 7:30 PM

Join us at the Silicon Valley Shambhala Center to see this wonderful film by Gregg Eller, a labor of love that took 5 years to make.

Recalling a Buddha
Memories of the Sixteenth Karmapa
The Life and Death of an Awakened BeingKarmapa himself was the teaching lesson.
The Sixteenth Karmapa was the leader of one of Tibetan Buddhism's four major schools of spiritual teachings: the Kagyu lineage.

How he lived and how he died gives us the example of an awakened being, a person with a noble heart.

As Gregg Eller researched a book on the great meditation masters of Tibet's exile generation, the oral histories about His Holiness Karmapa XVI were remarkable and completely unlike the descriptions of other major spiritual figures. He conducted research across India, Nepal, the United States and Canada which evolved into this biographic film about Karmapa.

January 30th, 2010
7:30pm
Gregg will be joining us for the evening.  If you would like to go to dinner with Gregg before the movie, we will meet at the center at 6:00pm.

$10.00 suggested donation.  The proceeds will go to Gregg for all of his hard work.
